Our lab was established in 2009 with Professor Jinfeng Jia’s transfer from Tsinghua University to Shanghai Jiaotong University. Now we are equipped with several exciting instruments, working in ultra-high vacuum(~10-10Torr), that feature the combination of extreme low temperature scanning tunneling microscope(STM), molecular beam epitaxy(MBE) and high magnetic field(Several Teslas). With these astounding equipments, which mainly focus on discovering the properties on the surface of materials, we characterize the novelty of quantum materials such as topological insulators, topological superconductors, high-temperature superconductors, low dimensional materials, etc. Recently, we have been dedicated to uncovering the mystery of majorana zero modes(MZMs) in topological superconductors that serve our ultimate goal: realizing MZM-based topological quantum computation.
